Insurance Policies that include Flood Cover for domestic property are becoming difficult to obtain in certain Vulnerable areas. Even if the property has never Flooded, Insurers are only too often refusing Insurance on the grounds of the home being near a Watercourse, Reservoir or Sea. It is deemed as “Liable to Flood”
We at Active Insurance are fully aware of the problems people face when trying to obtain Flood Insurance for their homes, as we ourselves live in work in a Flood Area. We therefore have negotiated with Underwriters at Lloyds of London a facility to write House Insurance in areas that are thought to be “Flood Blighted“. By individually Underwriting each risk on it’s own merit, we hope to tailor a Policy to suit your particular situation.
There is a course of action open to all Home Owners that fear the thought of being Flooded, whether or not an Insurance Policy includes Flood Cover. It is to protect the property by a bespoke Flood Protection System. There are a number of companies that produce a Kite Marked Product, these systems are becoming more widely used and our Underwriter is willing to take this into account when quoting for a property fitted with a system.
